Lake Baikal
It is the oldest and deepest lake on our planet. It is 25βˆ’35 million years old, and its depth is 1642 m, which is almost five times the height of the Eiffel Tower. It is located between southern Siberia and Mongolia.

There are 1,455 species of animals that you will not find anywhere else in the waters of Lake Baikal.

336 rivers flow into Baikal. At the same time, only one river flows out of the lake β€” the Angara. The water is so clean that it can be seen for 40 meters β€” as if from the height of a 12-story building. In winter, Baikal is covered with a one-meter layer of transparent, glass-like ice. The ice is filled with unusual white bubbles of different diameters. And they can be set on fire, since they are made of methane. The lake always freezes in different ways: coming here every year, it’s as if you find yourself in a new place.
