Volcanic lake Troitskoye, Kamchatka
This fantastic lake is located in the crater of the Maly Semyachik volcano, 135 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Its diameter is about 700 meters and its depth is 140 meters. It appeared presumably in the early 1940s as a result of an undocumented eruption. The crater itself appeared 400 years ago.

The color of the lake is caused by tiny particles of sulfur and varies from bright emerald to azure gray. Such colors are visible only from afar. Up close, the lake becomes muddy. But you can’t get close to it, the lake is toxic. Trinity is one of the most sour in the world. Its waters contain, in addition to hydrochloric and sulfuric acids common to volcanic lakes, also hydrofluoric acid. Therefore, splashes and fumes can not only damage the camera optics, but also corrode the skin and lungs.
