Usvinskie Pillars are a huge limestone massif, high sheer cliffs overlooking the Usva River and the endless taiga. On the stones, you can find imprints of ancient corals, fossilized remains of creatures from the depths of the sea and other artifacts, reminiscent of the fact that many millions of years ago there was a sea here.
In the structure of the stone ridge, there are many grottoes, caves, and so-called "fingers" — single narrow, high rocks.
The main "celebrity" of this place is the Devil’s finger. This rock stands separately from the massif and resembles a giant’s finger pointing to the sky. It is impressive that the 70-meter rock rests on a thin "leg" — over millions of years the wind has weathered the rocks and sharpened the base of the "finger".
